Whitstable Food Project

Midterm

The environment, food, and culture all have a unique look to them when it comes to their coastal areas. I grew up with beaches, shells, lobsters and clams. There are a certain kind of people who live in these small coastal gem towns. I took photos and videos of the culture surrounding the food and environment in Whitstable, England. My thoughts shared in the video are the same thoughts that I have had at home in Midcoast Maine.

Behind the Scenes

I wanted to find a costal town like mine. So I asked. I heard about various small areas that were along the coast and came across Whitstable. I took the rail down there with my film and digital camera. Finding the vibe of the town through video and photography was my goal. Taking street photos as I walked along the small roads. I ran into the bearded sailor presenting man asked to take his photo. After our chat I walked the coast observing the families enjoying their beach visits. In the link above are many of the extra digital photos that I took throughout my trip. I chose the three photos displayed above because it shows the three people I met on my travels.
